Car Art, Inc.: Commission a Portrait of your Other Best Friend

Monday, 9 February, 2009

Almost since the creation of affordable automobiles for the general public, cars have been immortalized in art. Sometimes the art is the design itself – blueprints, models, and even specifically chosen lines, curves, and proportion. Other times the art has been in the form of hand-painted advertising posters, often created by well-known artists, in much [...]

Corolland & Toyoland – Oh, What a Feeling

Wednesday, 3 December, 2008

For many of us, the Toyota Corolla was our first introduction to Japanese automobiles. Often, they were the first new cars we could afford, back in the days before Kia and Hyundai on the market. Most of us grew beyond our Corollas, but that doesn’t keep us from remembering them fondly. Then there are the [...]

TexasLemon.com – Lawyers Making Lemonade

Tuesday, 16 September, 2008

While most of us are lucky enough never to experience the agony of buying a car that turns out to be a lemon, for those of us who are caught in such a situation, it’s important to know where you can find both information and advocacy when the dealer drops the ball. That’s why TexasLemon.com [...]

Miniology: Feeling the Love

Monday, 15 September, 2008

Small cars must be feeling like the unlikely candidate who just got named Homecoming Queen. And if there’s any small, sporty, sharp little beauty I’m craving, it has to be the Mini. Wednesday, 3 September, 2008

On the surface, the concept of CarType seems a little strange. This is, after all, a site devoted to car-related typography – the fonts, whirls, and logos that instantly bring into mind iconic cars, and the companies that make them.
Look beyond the surface, however, and what you find is a website that not only [...]

Go, Go, GoCar – SFO’s Cutest Tourist Gimmick

Wednesday, 13 August, 2008

I just returned from a week in San Francisco (and let me just say that Mark Twain was right about the summer weather there), where I kept seeing these cute, tiny yellow cars populated by one or two helmeted tourists, and sharing audio GPS with passers by. I was curious, of course, so I [...]

Teasers from Tesla

Tuesday, 1 July, 2008

Tesla Motors, is all over the news this week, with three different announcements of new developments, all released yesterday.
First, they’ve introduced the new Model S, a fully electric five-passenger sedan that will be able to go about 225 miles between charges, and comes with a pricetag of about $60,000. If that seems a lot, consider [...]

RawHorsePower Delivers High Performance Content

Wednesday, 7 May, 2008

Generally sites that claim to be encyclopedic or comprehensive fall far short of their own press. RawHorsePower.com doesn’t. It would be hard to find a site that is more useful in terms of news and resources for enthusiasts who love power and performance from their machines — all kinds of machines. If your thing is [...]
