Clean Green Cars Website - Thumbs Up - April 8th, 2008

Sticking to the theme of site reviews, I wanted to call your attention to Clean Green Cars, a UK website that is an excellent compendium of environmental-automotive-goodness. Billed as “the green motoring guide” the major site sections are:

- Choosing a Green Car
- Latest Green News
- Green Jargon Explained
- Features

Currently the Choosing a Green Car section includes articles on:

- Most environmentally-friendly cars: Our run-down of the most eco-friendly cars in each category.

- Driving greener: 12 ways to cut your fuel consumption — and your Co2 output.

- Green cars of the future: A collection of the most relevant, exciting, and ambitious alternative fuel models from recent motor shows.

- Cars by Co2 emissions: If you are looking for a green car that meets a particular C02 target we can help.

The first and last articles particularly caught my eye. The most environmentally-friendly cars are broken down into:

- City cars
- Super-minis
- Small family cars
- Large family cars
- Compact executive cars
- Executive cars
- Luxury cars
- Small sports cars
- Luxury sports cars
- Four wheel drive
- People carriers

For the article on Co2 emissions you’re going to need to figure an upper and lower limit in terms of g/km and then search the database.

Okay, the obvious drawbacks for Americans working with a British site:

- Funky language.
- Cars that aren’t for sale in this country.
- Prices in pounds sterling.

Beyond those elements, all of which you can deal with — honestly — this is an information rich site with a ton of information on green cars, a subject on which we’re all going to need to get a lot smarter in the coming months. All in all, a great find.
