Grab Bag of Automotive Links Today - March 26th, 2008
Grab bag time, good people . . .
Engadget is reporting that Chrysler is adding in-car WIFI to the 2009 fleet. Details are sketchy, but it seems the models will have “cellular data access” as an option, but set to become a standard feature.
Tesla news from the same site includes a story early in the month about the Roadster and airbags - yes, it has them - as well as an update on actual production of the same car.
And, before we leave the Engadget world, don’t miss this piece on the Mercedes S500 BlueHybrid and Li-ion batteries. Also in the Mercedes new category we have this piece from AutoblogGreen on the company’s plans to “demo [a] fleet of electric Smarts.”
The New York Times today (link is to the minimalist mobile edition) has an excellent overview of the increasing importance of China’s role in the automotive world, “A Chevy with An Engine From China” by Ian Austen.
Finally, don’t miss CNet’s gallery of new models from the New York International Auto Show. Very, very drool-worthy stuff here.
