Eight Goodyear GPS Units at CES - January 8th, 2008

Last Friday Engadget reported on eight Goodyear branded GPS units expected to show up at CES. They’ll be produced by a company in New York called NCC, which stands for The National Christmas Company. Yep, got their start in Christmas lights but in recent years have been making stuff for Westinghouse and Stanley. The units look tasty according to the specs published on Engadget and include:

- GY100K, a keychain unit with SiRF Star III, Bluetooth, and ten hours on the battery.

- GY130, a unit with a 3.5-inch touchscreen running WinCE 5.0 (capable of MP3 playback), Centrality GPS chip, and six hours on the battery.

- GY140, next step up, picks up a 4.3-inch touchscreen, but drops back to WinCE 4.2? Also six hours.

- GY230, with a 3.5-inch touchscreen, faster processor, 2GB onboard, WinCE 4.2 and eight-hour battery.

- GY330, 3.5-inch touchscreen, SiRF Star III GPS chip, WinCE 5.0, optional MSN Direct access, FM transmitter, and eight-hour battery.

- GY340, pretty much same as the above with a 4.3-inch touchscreen and Bluetooth.

- GY440, ditto, but this one has a year year of MSN Direct access.

- GY540, same as above but with separate Bluetooth handsfree remote control and a voice memo function and stereo speakers.
