Superman, Did You Sell Kryptonite to GENIE? - November 27th, 2007
Catching up on my blog reading after the holidays, I ran across this post over on AutoblogGreen about a new technology named GENIE offered up by Magnetic Power Inc. that seems capable of handling just about everything including world peace.
The acronym stands for Generating Electricity by Nondestructive Interference of Energy. (Mouth full, much?) Click over to AutoblogGreen for more links and explanations. As easy as I can make it here’s the translation. They say they have a generator that runs all the time without fuel by extracting energy from a “source that exists everywhere in the universe.” (Kryptonite perchance?)
MPI has a pretty all encompassing list of “we can do’s) including the prevention of resource wars in the future, a reversal of the decline in the auto industry, eliminating mileage as a consideration in driving, and making a big ole positive dent in climate change. (Oh, and there’s no rotating parts.)
Sebastian Blanco, the author of the AutoblogGreen post admits freely he doesn’t get how this thing works and neither do I after clicking through all the links and reading all the hype. The company says the solid state technology can be scaled down to run a cell phone or up to fuel a vehicle. I’m still in the skeptical seats, but it’ll be interesting to see if we hear more about MPI in the future.
