Every now and then I see a simple automotive gadget that makes me droop and start muttering, “The Precious” complete with sibilant hissing sounds. Sharper Image has trotted out the Jump-Start DC Power Plus, eliciting just such a reaction.
This baby can not only charge a car battery without jumper cables (which I confess have always scared the holy living you know what out of me) but it will also power your cell phone, laptop, and a whole range of other electronics. There’s also a flashlight onboard.
Beyond being a fantastic safety/emergency item, I’m a demon about using my car to charge my gadgets whenever possible. You have no idea how much I hate giving the electric company my money every month and I’ll do whatever I can do lower that kilowatt usage. I have quite the collection of car chargers, but this is a nice, neat, all-in-one solution that you can’t beat at $39.95. With the holidays coming up, this could be a good one to put on your list for your own gadget/auto/gizmo-phile.
