Miles Auto Joins the Electric Fray - September 20th, 2007

Treehugger is reporting on yet another entry into the all-electric vehicle genre. A 79-year-old millionaire, Miles Rubin, has founded Miles Automotive with the goal of producing a low-cost, all-electric vehicle for mass production.
The ZX40 is a four-door hatchback with an approximate cost of $15,000 — and it plugs straight into the wall. (There’s a sedan in the works that will be highway legal and should show up by 2009.)
This electric vehicle could have some legs since NASA and some college campuses have picked up 300 or so of the ZX40s over the past few months.
As to the sedan, look to pay $30,000, make 80 mph, and run about 120 miles on a single charge.
